Polyester and performance fabrics print beautifully — but only with the right inks and process. The main challenge is dye migration: the garment’s own dye can bleed up into a fresh print and discolor it. We use low-cure inks and blocker underbases so your prints stay bright, sharp, and true.

The dye migration problem

Polyester is dyed with disperse dyes that can turn to gas at the temperatures used to cure ink. When that happens, the dye migrates into the print — a white logo on a red jersey slowly turns pink. The fix is a combination of lower-cure inks and a blocker underbase that seals the dye off from your artwork.

Different polyester garments migrate to different degrees, so on color-critical jobs we test the specific garment before committing to a full run.

Is there a minimum order?
