Fluorescent (neon) inks are engineered to be almost unnaturally bright in daylight — and they absolutely erupt under UV blacklight. If glow-in-the-dark is a soft night-time glow, neon is the loud, electric one: pink, green, orange, and yellow that pop off the shirt and light up the party.
Fluorescent vs. glow-in-the-dark
They’re often confused, but they’re different. Glow-in-the-dark charges under light and then glows on its own in total darkness. Fluorescent ink doesn’t glow in the dark at all — it glows while UV (blacklight) is shining on it, converting invisible UV into visible, electric color.
That makes neon perfect for blacklight environments — parties, clubs, glow runs — where the UV lighting makes the whole design blaze. In normal daylight, the same inks just read as extremely saturated brights.

Do neon inks glow in the dark?
Not on their own — they glow under UV blacklight. In total darkness with no UV, they don’t emit light. If you want a glow with the lights fully off, that’s glow-in-the-dark ink instead.
Will neon show up on a black shirt?
Yes, when we print a bright underbase first. Neon pigments are translucent, so on darks they need that base to stay electric — which we build into the job.
What neon colors are available?
The staples are neon pink, green, orange, and yellow, and they can be combined. Tell us the palette you want and we’ll match fluorescent inks to it.
