DTG vs Screen Printing - What is the Difference?

Screen Printing

  • Our preferred method of printing. This is the industry standard for t shirt making and is the best quality.
  • Minimum order quantity of 24 pieces depending on the design.
  • Price break for larger quantities.
  • Maximum color vibrancy.
  • Best washibility/durability.
  • Price depends on the number of colors in the design, number of print locations, quantity, and type of garment.

Direct To Garment Printing

  • This print method is used for short run orders or orders with a high amount of colors.
  • No minimum order quantity.
  • Excellent with photo-like images.
  • Decent quality but lacks color vibrancy and washability.
  • Maximum of 24 or 36 pieces depending on design.
  • Can only be printed on 100% cotton garments.
  • Price depends on the number of print locations, quantity, and type of garment.

Turnaround Time

  • Standard turnaround time is 7-10 business days.
  • If orders are needed sooner than 10 business days please contact us before placing an order.
  • 3 business day, or 5 business day rush orders are available schedule permitting only.

Minimum Quantity

Screen Printing

  • 36 pieces. We also have price breaks at 48, 72, 144, 250, 500, 1000+

DTG and DTF

  • No minimum. Maximum 36 pieces.

Recommended Art Files

  • Vector: AI. EPS. PDF. (these files type can be submitted via email: orders@teerabbit.com).
  • Raster: PSD. JPG. PNG. TIF. 300 DPI at image print size is highly recommended (150 DPI minimum).  
  • Low quality artwork will result in a low quality, pixelated print. We cannot always take bad artwork and make it better.
